It all started in San Diego at a bar called Mavericks Beach Club over Memorial Day weekend in 2022. At the time, both of Caroline and Steven's siblings were soon-to-be married, and within minutes of meeting they jokingly (and maybe a little drunkenly) invited each other as a plus one to their respective siblings' weddings. What began as lighthearted flirting quickly turned into something real as they found themselves spending nearly every day together. Three weeks in, Caroline traveled to the Bay Area with Steven, and thanks to a flight delay, she got to meet Nana (Steven’s beloved grandma). A few weeks later, Steven flew to the Jersey Shore and met Caroline’s entire family. Later that year, everything came full circle when their drunken wedding invites became reality and they stood beside each other at their siblings’ weddings. By then, it was clear they had found something very special. Shortly after, they navigated long-distance while Caroline continued her travel nurse journey in amazing new places like Scottsdale, Chicago, and Newport Beach. Despite the miles, their relationship grew stronger—frequently flying back and forth to visit each other. Eventually, Steven’s career took him back to the Bay Area from San Diego. Caroline joined him, and they got their very first apartment together in San Francisco. In February 2025, they got engaged in Hawaii, and the journey towards planning their own wedding truly began! Fun fact: Mavericks is still Caroline’s favorite bar!
