Maid of Honor
Best Friend. Big Sister. #1 Cheerleader. It’s tough to find the words to describe our relationship…or at least ones that don’t exceed the character limit, but it’s safe to say we are a package deal. If you know Katy, she’s loving, loyal, and protective. Katy finally gave me the brother I always wanted when she got married - but she refuses to be called Matron of Honor because she thinks it makes her sound old. We couldn’t have planned this wedding without her help, so we’re letting her get away with it.
Best Man
When I first met Tommy in high school he was 5'4 and 100 pounds soaking wet. Now he is 6'3 and still 100 pounds soaking wet. His height is not the only thing that has grown over the 6 years we have lived together, but also the list of stories we are not allowed to share about each other at weddings. As long as Tom Brady isn't playing the Falcons in the Superbowl, a truer friend and better best man than Tommy Adams cannot be found.
Bridesmaid
Two UGA grads with mutual friends, it’s a wonder we never crossed paths in Athens. Once in Atlanta, we found each other and mutual Facebook stalking led to a fast friendship in PT school. Often confused for twins our first year, we could be found quoting Friends, swapping stories, and laughing more than we were practicing during lab. Abby was by my side every day for 3 years to the point where I spent more time with her than I did with Sam. It’s lucky that they bonded just as quickly - ask to see the album on my phone of their selfies. This girl is truly a delight.
Groomsman
The brother-in-law is a package deal when marrying into a family with sisters and can often be a relationship in which you only see each other when the sisters are having their time together. Not the case here. Caroline and Katy can attest that they see much less of Chris and Sam than they bargained for, because they are off couch coaching the Dawgs, making international cuisine, and pretending to be Formula 1 drivers. They must have some pretty good tastes - they both have the honor of marrying Malones.
Bridesmaid
Friends, Friday mornings, football, and a mutual hatred for Tom Brady. Still grateful she didn’t give up on me when she learned the truth about Sam and the Patriots. Because I couldn’t have survived PT school without our daily walks and life talks around PSC or PTC to keep me sane. On one of those occasions, she introduced me to potato pizza. Check out her hometown Peachtree City to take a golf cart to some of my new favorite places to eat.
Groomsman
Randy, Parmesan, Ayemet. Truly a man of a thousand nicknames, but best known as Emmett. Always the first to greet you with a smile and to join you for a refreshment for any reason. Literally any possible reason.
Bridesmaid
Hannah, Sam’s older sister, has been there through it all. She provided the recipe for the first dinner Sam ever made me, and she’s been just as supportive every step of the way since then. Hannah was the first family member Sam allowed me to meet over dinner in Athens and that’s been our thing ever since. She’s the best reason to visit Athens - and usually has a funny story or two about young Sam.
Groomsman
Never has someone existed that liked shinier things more than Stephen. Half man, half golden retriever, half dolphin. Yes, that is three halves, but he is an engineer so he will probably figure something out to fix it. Not quite as cool or as good at cornhole as his father, but pretty close. Make sure you catch him before his 9:30 bedtime!
Bridesmaid
Another part of the inseparable PT school crew, I knew we had to be lifelong friends the day I caught her watching Friends instead of studying before one of our exams. Maddie’s a great sport going along with all of our southern ways…still TBD how she felt about her first trip to The Varsity. She and her hubby Matt are also my travel inspiration - a little bit tougher now that they’ve moved back home to Michigan.
Groomsman
Every group has to have their adventurer. With trips to Talladega Nascar races, New Orleans and Charleston Formals, Florida spring breaks, and fishing trips, Tyler certainly fits the bill. Some take it more seriously than others by moving across the country to Oregon, but that just gives you a great reason to visit! Just don't let him apply your sunscreen unless you want to look like Tony the Tiger.
Attendant
In 2009, Ash gave me one of my most important roles yet - godmother! Katy and I were already excited for Ashleigh's arrival, but when Matt and Carrie asked us to become her godmothers, we officially became obsessed. I'm so proud of the smart, faithful young lady Ash has grown into and love cheering on the Dawgs and Braves with her!
Attendant
My second goddaughter Erin and I are lucky to share the younger sister bond. Erin is always full of light, a sense of adventure, and questions and brings fun to everything we do. Our favorite memories include cheering on the Dawgs at football and baseball games and enjoying the magic on the Disney cruise.
Ring Bearer
Full of endless energy, my godson Austin is a true Braves and Dawg fan and lover of Blooper and Hairy Dawg. He's always willing to give you a hug, if you can catch him...
