The Algarve is a really beautiful part of Portugal with lots of options of places to stay! The closest towns to our venue are Albufeira and Vilamoura. We will be staying in Vilamoura for the week after the wedding. However, we really want everyone to enjoy their time in Portugal so please book where suits your budget and needs. Everywhere is easily accessible by Uber. There are some hotel recommendations on the accommodation page of this website or you can reach out to the local travel agent that we have been working with - details also listed on the accommodation page.
We will be arranging for a bus to collect guests at a central point. Caroline and Peter will reach out to everyone closer to the time to see where you are staying and will advise of that pick up point then. The bus will bring all guests from the ceremony to the reception venue and will drop everyone back to the central point after the party! Please note however that Ubers are very cheap and easy to get in Portugal so you are more than welcome to arrange your own transport to suit your schedule!
Unfortunately, we have made the hard decision to not have children at our wedding other than our flower girls & page boy. With two large families and friends with lots of children, it wasn't suitable for us to have all of them there. We understand this won't work for everyone so please know we respect your RSVP decision either way! If you decide to come to Portugal with your family, please let us know and we can assist in finding babysitters if needed!
Our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and band will all be held outdoors, weather permitting. The party will move indoors for the DJ at 12am.
Whatever you would wear to a summer wedding in Ireland! Please note that our dinner will be held in a garden setting so comfortable shoes are advised.
