Have you ever heard of the invisible string theory? It’s the idea that two people are always destined to cross paths, no matter what. That’s exactly how our story began. Nekoda grew up in Wiggins, just outside of Fort Morgan where Caroline once lived. Every summer, he’d come back for the town’s big event, Bobstock. One year, we both happened to be there. Nekoda noticed Caroline at a bar during the festivities—but he was going through a divorce at the time, so he never approached her (though to this day, he still remembers exactly what she was wearing). Fast forward a year later: Caroline had moved back to Greeley and stopped by the Toyota dealership while considering trading in her car. She worked with someone else, but noticed a cute guy walking around—though we never actually made eye contact. A few hours later, Caroline got a message on Instagram from an unknown account: “Hey, I don’t want to seem creepy, but I saw you at the dealership today and thought, WOAH.” That account belonged to Nekoda. From there, we started talking on and off for months, always circling back to Bobstock. When it came around again, Caroline told Nekoda she’d be there—but he completely ghosted her. Still, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she had to see him. So she went bar-hopping all over town until she finally found him. That night, it clicked—Caroline was the same girl Nekoda had noticed the year before. We spent the evening together, Caroline met his family and friends, and we had the best time. From that night on, we’ve been inseparable. All it took was the right timing for our strings to finally tie together.
