Our Story

According to CC:

First Meeting: After some social media contact issues, Caroline and Mike decided to meet up for a mountain bike ride on October 20 of 2016. They agreed upon a common Eastern Sierra fall spot, "second parking lot of Lower Rock Creek". Caroline arrived in her old brown CRV and jumped out. She took one look at Mike and was instantly smitten. Anyone who knows Caroline, knows she can have a ridiculously large grin when she is genuinely happy and this was the biggest grin ever. They then started up the trail and lots of good "common first date" chatter started. Mike being the physical beast that he is, pedaled along at a rapid pace, while Caroline tried to keep the chatter going, while appearing to not be in cardiac arrest. After a nice ride down, Mike asked "should we go get some pizza" or something to that effect and they headed over to Convict Lake Bar for pizza and drinks. The rest they say is history and its only fitting that the site of their first date be the wedding venue! The Proposal: Mike proposed on Sunday, May 26, 2019 on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. In true Caroline form, she decided it would be a good idea for a nice "early season" jaunt across the Grand Canyon, just a small 25 miler with 6K of gain. After arrival on the North Rim and a small nap, they hobbled towards the lodge for their dinner reservation. Mike suggested they walk out to the point for a look. Caroline skeptically gave him a look of "seriously", but agreed. Meanwhile a large crazy late season storm had rolled in bringing massive winds and cold. Caroline is VERY glad she made the journey to the point where Mike proposed! She just said "no" and "no" over and over in shock and then finally a yes:) We are very excited that you can join us to celebrate our marriage and we thank you in advance for being wonderful people in our lives who support and love us through thick and thin!
