Midwesterner's Guide to Speaking Southern:

Answer

- "Atlannah" = Atlanta, GA where we live - "Durm" = Durham, NC where we met - "South Cackalacky"= South Carolina, where Caroline is from - "Chicago"= The entire state of Illinois, where Kyle is from - "Y'all"= how we address anyone - "Pecans" = pronounced "pee-cans" when Midwesterners may say "pe-conns" - "Tea" = always sweet tea, never unsweet or hot tea - "Soda" = referring to every type of soft drink equivalent to the Midwestern "pop" - "Barbecue"= refers to pulled pork rather than a family cookout or gathering - "Chick-fil-a"= people are obsessed and will eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all in one day (except on Sundays, of course) - "Saturday"= the most important day of the week in the fall because SEC football is on. What is the NFL? - "Go Dawgs"= a greeting/nod of respect to fans of the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team - "Grown Up Blue"=Duke blue (Kyle and Caroline's preferred shade of blue) compared to UNC Blue aka "Baby Blue"
