Wedding receptions in New Orleans traditionally do not included seated dinners. Instead of table assignments and set courses, there are passed hors d'oeuvres, multiple open food stations, and plenty of beverages. It's a highly dynamic atmosphere that allows guests to move freely about the reception space and pick any table to enjoy a bite when they are hungry. Food stations will be open throughout the majority of the reception, so you can eat, drink, dance and mingle in any order you choose!
New Orleans celebrations often include a "second line" parade through the streets. After the ceremony, you'll have the chance to grab a to-go beverage and a handkerchief to wave as you dance and follow the bride and groom on a short second line (weather permitting).
We adore your children, but we kindly request that all wedding events be adults only. If your little ones are joining you in New Orleans, we'd be happy to share babysitting recommendations.
We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
Guests staying downtown are welcome to take the shuttle buses from the Loews to Il Mercato before the ceremony. The buses will depart at 5:20pm, so be prepared to board by 5:15pm. At the end of the night, there will be buses returning to the Loews and buses to Gold Mine for the after party.
The dress code is cocktail attire -- suits with ties, dresses of all lengths, dressy jumpsuits, pantsuits, etc. Florals encouraged! The weather will be warm, so feel free to break out your linen and seersucker. As for shoes, we won't be on grass, but keep in mind that the second line involves a lot of walking through the streets.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 6pm, and guests can arrive starting at 5:30pm. Shuttles will depart from the Loews Hotel at 5:20pm, so be prepared to board before then.
