Isaac and I have known each other for a while through his sister Rebecca (who is also my best friend and have known since 4th grade). We would see each other in passing throughout the years when he came to Georgia to visit. Two years ago when I was moving back to Augusta, I was on instagram and kept getting recommendations / suggestions to follow him. So I said screw it, I know literally the rest of the family and he's the only one I do not follow. So I sent the friend request. Low and behold he accepted it. Shortly after that he actually messaged me on Instagram and sent me a funny photo. He said and I quote, that I "wasn't ready for the smoke". And after that we started to talk and it blossomed into so much more. He invited me to come see him in Oregon and at the time Becca was also living there. So I used it as an opportunity to not only go and see him but to see my best friend. It was the best trip I'd gone on in a while. I came back to Augusta and shortly after he moved to Augusta to be closer to his Dad and others for a little while. So off I went again to Oregon in December 2023 and we packed his things and Becca, Pam, Isaac, Fish (our dog), and myself packed the cars and drove from Hillsboro, OR all the way to Augusta, Ga. It was quite the ride might I add and was a fun adventure. I got to see places I'd never thought I'd get to experience. Fast forward some and we were on our way back to Oregon in October 2024. We went on several adventures. My main request on the trip was to go on hikes and places that were his "stomping grounds" and where he liked to go to. So he took me on a hike to his and Fish's spot. We stopped at several places in Tillamook Forrest. It was beautiful. At the last stop on the hike by the river he proposed to me. It was like a movie scene. It was peaceful and beautiful and it was a private moment between us. Fast forward today we share our four doggos Leonard, Buddy, Fish, and Chips. (Yes they have unique names) But we are excited for what the future holds for us and the many adventures we will have along the way.
