The wedding ceremony and reception will both be held at The Mill at Fine Creek, outside of Richmond, Virginia. Some lodging is located on the property, but has been reserved for certain out of town family and the wedding party. If you look under the “Travel” section of the website, you’ll see a couple recommendations for hotels close to the venue!
The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM with the reception beginning at 7:00 PM. There will be a cocktail hour in between while the wedding party meets with the photographer. Guests not staying on property may arrive as early as 5:00 PM for a refreshment and to explore the beautiful property before the service. Guests staying on the property may refer to their email itinerary from the coordinator.
Consider the dress code black tie. Gentleman are recommended to come in slacks and a jacket and ladies in an evening gown. The bridesmaids will be dressed in sage green with the groomsmen in light grey. Please refrain from wearing white or cream colors. If you have something you want to wear, but are unsure if it’s the right fit, feel free to reach out prior to the day of. The ceremony will be held outside, following an indoor reception. Make sure if you choose to wear heels that they are comfortable for dancing! The open bar will be flowing and the DJ will be bumping until 11 pm!
Although we can’t predict the weather, on an average August day we see a heat index with a high of 85 and low of 70. If it rains, the ceremony will be moved indoors.
You can RSVP right here on our website! Just click the tab labeled “RSVP” and be sure to fill out any dietary questions.
We have carefully gone through all the wonderful people we know and specifically chosen who will join us for our special day. Although we would love to have everyone, there just isn't enough room! We are grateful you are excited to join and if you feel you have a special circumstance, please reach out prior to June 1st to see if we can accommodate your special guest. We appreciate your understanding.
We ask that all guests RSVP by June 1st to allow plenty of time for the chef to prepare the plated dinner and for us to make sure we buy enough booze!
We have many young children in our close family who will be in attendance, however a babysitter will not be provided. We recommend leaving children not in the wedding at home with a babysitter to have a safe and appropriate night. If you choose to attend with your child/children, please understand that you will have to see to them during the event. If they are unable to sit for the events, you will be asked to escort them away from the venue. They will be expected to sit politely for some longer periods of time, for example, the ceremony, speeches and first dance. As the reception goes from 7:00 to 11:00 PM, the later end of the night may not be appropriate for all ages as adults will be drinking and enjoying themselves, including the bride and groom.
Because we are providing many out of town guests as well as the wedding party lodging on the property, we will not be getting a hotel block. We have attached under the “Travel” section of our website recommendations for nearby hotels.
Both locations are wheelchair accessible, although both may not be accessible through the main door. If you need assistance getting into either area on the property, the day of coordinator can assist!
We’ll be serving light snacks during cocktail hour, followed by a delicious plated dinner planned by the wonderful chef, and of course dessert, made by the mother of the bride.
Yes, there is an open bar with wine, beer, and liquor, including two signature cocktails. Although open bars can be fun, please ensure you carry yourself appropriately and do not drink and drive. Call an Uber or arrange a DD.
While physical gifts are wonderful, we love to experience life to the fullest by making memories and exploring the world together. Under our “Registry” tab, you will see different parts of our honeymoon that you may help contribute to. Any contribution, while not necessary, will be greatly appreciated and photographed at great length! We chose to honeymoon in Italy for our love of the food, wine, and the chance for Giuseppe to explore where his family comes from; in loving memory of his father, who will be walking the streets of Palermo with us in spirit. In further exploring this link to his heritage we hope to pass down to our future children the same zest for life and love for all.
