Caroline and Eric met at a mutual friends wedding in May 2018. The bride, McKenzie Smith, had talked to each of them about the other one prior to the wedding. They were introduced at the beginning of the reception and have not stopped talking since. Caroline quickly fell in love with Eric for being a gentlemen and his passion for quality time spent with family, friends, his dog, Gracie, and all of his hobbies. As planned, Caroline moved to Dallas that Summer and began her teaching career in Plano. Eric and Caroline dated long distance for 2 years. After their second year of dating, Caroline made the move to Little Rock. A year later, they still were in love with each other and Eric proposed! They were on a weekend getaway in Northwest Arkansas staying at a cabin looking over Beaver Lake just 15 minutes from downtown Eureka Springs. Of course they had to check out the fly fishing on the White River beneath the Beaver Dam Site. They pulled in to the parking lot around 8 am and admired the morning fog on top of the river as they put on their fishing gear. Caroline started casting first. After several casts, she wasn’t hooking any fish, so Eric prompted to change her fly. She handed him her pole and was directed to keep her eye on the water looking for fish. “Hey Caroline,” he said as she turned around, he was on one knee in the water with the ring! Caroline doesn’t remember much after that but recalls him saying “we aren’t here to fish, we came here so I could ask you to be my wife.” The whole time there was a drone circling above us catching the whole scene on video. It was so special. We spent the rest of the day exploring downtown Eureka Springs and taking pictures together.
