Flight

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)

ATL is the closest major airport and offers the most nonstop flight options from around the country. From the airport, it’s approximately a 1 hour and 20 minute drive to the lake. We recommend renting a car at the airport or hiring a driver, as there are currently no Uber or rideshare services available at Lake Oconee. We will provide recommended driver options for coordination during the wedding weekend.

Augusta Regional Airport (AGS)

Augusta is a smaller regional airport with limited flight options, but it’s slightly closer to the lake, about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive. We recommend renting a car or hiring a driver, as there are currently no Uber or rideshare services available at Lake Oconee. Madison, Georgia

Madison is often recognized as one of Georgia’s most beautifully preserved small towns, known for its historic homes, tree-lined streets, and classic Southern architecture. Its walkable downtown offers local shops, cafés, and restaurants, making it a charming place to stay. While Madison is not located near the lake, it is approximately a 30-minute drive to Sandy Creek Barn and wedding weekend events.

Rental Car

Private Drivers & Transportation

Ride-share services such as Uber and Lyft are not available at Lake Oconee. For guests flying in, a great option is to rent a car from the airport, and hire a driver as needed. Rental cars are available from: Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport (ATL) – approximately 1 hour 20 minutes to Lake Oconee Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) – approximately 1 hour to Lake Oconee If you plan to enjoy beverages during wedding events, consider hiring a private driver as needed. If you choose to hire a driver for the entire weekend, we recommend making airport pickup reservations in advance. There will be parking available onsite at Sandy Creek Barn, and we will also provide shuttle transportation from specified locations to and from the venue.
