Dave and I met in 1987 when we were both stationed at Griffiss AFB, Rome, NY. Assigned to the same B-52 crew in August 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Deployed to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean a week after Sadam invaded Kuwait. We flew the first low level deep interdiction combat bombing missions into Iraq during the beginning of the Gulf War. We both pursued careers in healthcare, always remaining close no matter where in the country either was working. A true intellect in every sense of the word, Dave has always and will always remain the one person I can always count on to be an objective and reasoned critic. A friend and brother without reproach who has always been there for me in the darkest times. It is my honor to have him and his family in my life.

William (Billy) Schunk

Best Man

Bill Schunk has been a friend, brother, confidant, and objective sounding board for me for over 25 years. A superior aviator, leader, and a person of the highest integrity. A man of few words, but who's actions denote the competence and depth of intellect few possess. He served as our Chief Navigator during my tenure as Squadron Commander, and always provided me with solid guidance, and support. His counsel, perspective, and friendship carried me through some of my darkest times. We've flown all over the world supporting both combat and humanitarian missions. Billy's humor and perspective have always carried the day even in the most dire circumstances. In life you find few people that you connect with on every level; Billy is that guy for me. He knows it wasn't really wasted time.

I met this guy when he was just a few hours old and he changed my life. I thought after my own children I couldn't love anyone more, but who knew. He's a force of nature, and if Grandpa has anything to say, probably the cutest damn kid I've ever seen! Not sure if he'll be able to walk by the time we roll down the aisle, but he's agreed to participate as long as we feed him.
