North End Juice Co. (Museum District)
Everything is fresh and delicious here! It's a favorite weekend morning tradition of ours to walk to North End. We always order the Blue Suede Shoes smoothie (or as a bowl), and if we don't, we regret it. Located in the Museum District.
Nate's Bagels
There will be time allotted for a Nate's vs Bodo's bagel debate at the reception, please come prepared with your arguments and resources. Thank you. Located in The Fan.
The Sidewalk Cafe
The ten dollar mimosa pitchers with crazy straws WILL tempt you - schedule time for a nap afterwards! This is the best place for good food, good music and some dancing on tables! If it wasn't our wedding day we would go here! Located in The Fan.
LuLu's
This is where we go for the BEST red-velvet waffles, and where we celebrated Caroline's first 10k race (sporty). And - it's right next to Havana 59! Located in Shockoe bottom.
Supper
Delicious home-style Southern brunch/lunch space. The first place Caroline ever went in Richmond long before we moved here (shoutout to Greg!) Located in Scott's Addition.
Chiocca's
Best. Sandwiches. Ever. This place has been home to many long nights with friends, date nights over a chess board, and where we go every Christmas. Ask for the Made in Turkey! Located in the Museum District.
Pizza & Beer of Richmond
Great pizza, lots of beers and a fun indoor/outdoor space! Easy to spend a lot of time here. Try the crispy brussel sprouts - they're the best. Located in The Fan.
Little Nickel
Caroline's most favorite restaurant in Richmond. It's just across the River, and you will be instantly transported to a tropical vacation! Think delicious cocktails and flamingo wallpaper. This place is a party. Would highly recommend the Hawaiian nachos! Located in Southside RVA.
The Veil Brewing Co. - Scott’s Addition
Delicious beers (try the smoothie-style!) and a great outdoor spot in Scott's Addition!
Bingo Beer Co
Beer, arcade games, and bucket beer pong with a soccer ball. Need we say more? Located in Scott's Addition.
Starr Hill Beer Hall & Rooftop
Excellent beers you might know and love, with the addition of a rooftop view! Located in Scott's Addition.
Belle Isle
The closest thing to hiking in the city! Belle Isle is accessed by a pedestrian bridge with a 1.8 mile trail providing excellent views of the James River. Located in Downtown Richmond.
Carytown
Carytown is a collection of boutique shops, bars and restaurants on Cary Street extending from Arthur Ashe Blvd to Thompson Street. Fun to peruse! Located in the Museum District.
Maymont
Maymont is a must-see if you have the time! It's a large park including several gardens, a nature museum, an old estate/grounds to explore, a petting zoo and lots of animal exhibits all connected by several miles of walking trails. Located across from The Fan.
Canal Walk
Richmond’s Canal Walk features several murals, restaurants (Casa Del Barco has a mean margarita), and four centuries of Richmond's history. Located along downtown’s riverfront, the Canal Walk stretches 1.25 miles along the James River and Kanawha and Haxall Canals, and has access points at nearly every block between 5th and 17th Streets. The Poe Museum
This is a really cool and unique museum, and a beautiful building. Make sure you catch a tour to learn a little bit more about UVA's edgiest dropout! Located in Shockoe Bottom. Other awesome museums to consider: Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (Museum District), The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design (The Fan), American Civil War Museum (Shockoe Bottom), and Church Hill Historic District (Check out Chimborazo Park, Libby Hill Park)
PlantHouse
Formerly called PlantBar, this is a trendy plant shop that is fun to peruse. The best part is you get TWO. FREE. DRINKS. while you shop! No strings attached! This is not a drill people! Located in The Fan.
