The long story short is: with the help of a couple of friends, including groomsman, Matt. Caroline and Austin first met in passing one night when Caroline was out with friends and Austin was home "studying" for a new sales job. Matt had met Caroline earlier that night and let Austin know that he just had to meet this girl. When Austin came out to say hi to the group, he brought his dog, Millie, along with him. Needless to say, Caroline was quickly sold. They spent all of the following day together at the Atlanta Summer Beer Fest and bonded over beer and live music. The rest is history!
Picking the perfect proposal date was easier said than done, but little did Caroline know that it had been in the works for many months. Having all of the Leonards under one roof is tough enough, but the Thanksgiving holiday was the perfect opportunity to have all of the Leonards and all of the LaFrenieres come together for what Caroline thought was going to be a "normal" dinner at the lake. With the number of family members we had at the house, my mom asked Caroline and I to go grab several folding chairs from down at the dock. The walk down to the dock felt like an eternity, but miraculously Caroline did not see her surprise until the perfect moment. Waiting for her on the dock were roses, champagne, pictures of the two of us, and one very important question. Caroline agreed to spend forever with me which was followed by a family celebration, a surprise party with close friends in Atlanta, and a huge sense of relief that the ring did not fall into the lake.
