The downtown area of Royal Oak is phenomenal if you're looking to get a bite to eat, a coffee, or browse a variety of shops. Main St. in Royal Oak is just a block away from our reception location!
Detroit Zoo
The Detroit Zoo is in Royal Oak and one of the best zoos we've ever seen - especially the penguin exhibit and the free-roaming peacocks.
Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters Royal Oak
Dessert Oasis is Caroline's favorite coffee shop in Rochester (so good news for you - there are locations in RO, Ferndale, and Detroit).

If you want a sneak peek of the reception venue, check out the RO Farmer's Market on Saturday morning.
Stony Creek Metropark
This is where Caroline trains very frequently. If you're looking to get in a run, bike, or nice walk on the trails, this is a good option about 30 minutes away! (You do have to pay ten bucks to get in FYI, but we think it's worth it.)

Up North
Particularly for out of town guests - if you want to turn your trip out to MI for our wedding into a full vacation, we HIGHLY recommend you venture a few hours up north. Caroline, as a non-Michigan native, has been to Traverse City and Charlevoix, both of which were spectacular. From TC, you can get over to the Dunes on Lake Michigan and explore the bays/downtown of Traverse City itself. Charlevoix has a very cute downtown with great Lake Michigan access.
