We would recommend wearing a suit/shirt and tie or a dress - with a winter jacket, gloves and a toque (American translation: beanie) for the outdoor portion!
The closest mountains for downhill skiing are Pico (18 min) and Killington (25 min). Okemo is a 45 minute drive from the resort.
Feel free to bring a bathing suit - there is a hot tub in the main lodge (as well as some of the rental houses) and a sauna at the spa. You should bring winter weather clothes, eh - especially if you plan to do any outdoor activities! Cross country skis and snow shoes are available to rent at the lodge. Pack ski gear if you want to get some shredding in! And skates too!
*Please see the RSVP for more info on this!
For Canadians entering the USA requiring testing: Currently, the government of Canada is requiring a molecular PCR COVID test within 72 hours of arrival in Canada. Guests traveling to Vermont on Friday, Feb 4, and returning Sunday, Feb 6 are recommended to get a test on Friday to allow time for the results to return for the trip back to Canada. We’ve included a great website that also outlines COVID testing using this method. https://flytrippers.com/getting-covid-19-test-usa-for-canadians/ Here is the travel page on the government of Canada website. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/flying-canada-checklist/covid-19-testing-travellers-coming-into-canada RETURNING TO CANADA You must download the ArriveCAN app on your smartphone and fill out the application within 72 hours of returning home. It will ask you to upload proof of vaccination as well as your passport information, and where and when you will be crossing.
We use CVS for our testing and results have always been returned within 48 hours. - go to: https://www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/covid-19-testing to schedule a PCR COVID test; the scheduling typically opens about 2 weeks before the day you wish to test. - Once you’re on the website, it will ask you for your zip code. You can use the zip code for Rutland, Vermont: 05701. You could also use a zip code for Buffalo, NY (14221), if you want to stop as soon as your cross the border. You’ll then choose a testing site and a time slot. - Once you’re in the system, it will ask questions and personal details, including your address - fill this out as the location you’re staying in Vermont. - It will also ask for your SSN - put your SIN for this. - Insurance section: put that you do not have any insurance in the USA. - Once you book your test and take it, the results will usually be sent directly to your phone. - If CVS doesn't work for you, pharmacies like Walgreens and Rite Aid also do testing.
