Will and I met in winter of 2016 during our time at Auburn. After Will graduated we started the first phase of our long distance journey. Will moved off to Houston to start work at Exxon and then eventually made the move to Charleston SC. I enjoyed my trips to visit Will in Charleston so much that we decided I should join him in SC after finishing at Auburn. That first year finally in the same place was an amazing year full of great food, great friends and so many incredible memories. During my time in Charleston I was accepted for my Masters in Physician Assistant in Augusta, GA and thus the Charleston chapter of our life began to wrap up and our next chapter of long distance was beginning. Augusta and Charleston were much closer than any of the other cities we spent time in and so we affectionately called this chapter “short distance” rather than “long distance” (plus the one silver lining in all the bad of COVID was that the pandemic did give us a nice quarantine opportunity to get to spend some more time together in the same place). The most recent chapter in our journey together is the Houston chapter. During the pandemic Will accepted a new role with Exxon that meant a move to Houston. He moved there in January of this year, and we were able to enjoy all the new life changes of deciding where to live, buying a home together, and finally the quintessential cross-country drive with a U-Haul. Houston has been a great experience so far making new friends and getting into routines. We are so excited to have each of you joining us in Jacksonville this November. Each of you has played an important role in one or many of the various chapters in our lives and we look forward to you being there as life continues to take “The New Collier’s” on many more adventures.
