Our story began quietly, without either of us realizing it. We took the same dual credit history class in high school, and, although we had never spoken directly to one another, we recognized each other’s faces and knew each other’s voices from all of the questions we answered in that class. A short time later, we met in person for the first time at FBLA Nationals in Chicago, exchanging a few words but not thinking much of that initial interaction. As fate would have it, we both ended up at Missouri S&T for college. Our paths crossed occasionally throughout our freshman year, but, once again, we were just acquaintances taking the same general classes. However, something shifted toward the end of the fall semester of our sophomore year. We kept running into each other almost daily for a week straight. Each time we talked, the conversations grew a little longer and a little easier. Eventually, Levi mustered up the courage to ask Caroline to hang out under the very responsible pretense of preparing for an upcoming Calculus III exam. What started as grabbing Chick-Fil-A and studying turned into hours of talking, laughing, and connecting with one another, realizing that something special had begun. For 12 hours that day, we ate a bit, studied a little, and talked a lot, as if we had known each other our whole lives. From that day on, our friendship was quickly shaped into something deeper. We built a relationship centered on faith, love, laughter, and mutual encouragement. Nearly a year and a half later, Levi got down on one knee and proposed on Caroline’s family farm, surrounded by the love, peace, and quiet beauty of the place where she grew up (and a few cows as well). Now, we’re so excited to begin this next chapter together as husband and wife, and we’re incredibly grateful that you’re here to celebrate it with us.
