On Saturday, head to Downtown Buda as we kick off the festivities with a show of local pride as the Birthday Parade marches down Main Street into City Park. Starting at 1 pm catch dance performances in the Great Lawn then shop for a new treasure and taste your favorite foods in the market under the Pavilion. At 3 pm our music line up begins with performances by locals legends Money Chicha and W.C. Clark Blue Revue before headliner Jamestown Revival!
Explore Driftwood and surrounding areas, just a short drive from Buda. Eat BBQ at The Salt Lick (don't forget to BYOB). Grab a drink at Vista Brewing or Duchman Family Winery.
Austin is 30 minutes up the highway. Visit the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum for a dose of Texas pride. Or jump into Barton Springs Pool to cure your hangover. Be sure to walk up to House & Senate chambers — one of ‘em has massive painting of Alamo + final battle victory at San Jacinto. Capitol on ( roughly ) 15th St. EZ stroll south down Congress Ave ( 15 blocks = < 1 mile) to Town Lake / Colorado River. Stroll along South Congress shops & restaurants — pick up some cowboy boots at Allens Boots, grab a cocktail at Hotel San Jose and pizza at Home Slice. Walk around Lady Bird Lake for scenic Austin views.
