There are tons of hikes in the area! Below are a few favorites but feel free to try others: Village to Village Trail - hike from Beaver Creek to Arrowhead Village and back. This is a beautiful hike, easily accessible from anywhere in Beaver Creek. 7.5 miles one way, so you can either arrange a shuttle back from arrowhead or only go part way and back. Berry Picker - hike up Vail Mountain on the Berry Picker trail and take the gondola back down for free! 3.2 miles one way (so hike uphill and then take the gondola down). Leaves out of Lionshead with free parking in the summer. Uneva Peak - At the top of Vail Pass, this 6 mile round trip hike goes up to 13,000 feet! Beautiful views all the way around and a fun way to check out some of Colorado's high peaks
Biking is a fun way to see the Vail Valley! There is a bike path that runs from the top of Vail Pass all the way down to Avon. Rent from Performance Sports in Lionshead in Vail.
Caroline worked for Timberline Tours for a summer and had a great time exploring the rafting scene in Colorado. If you want to go, she recommends: The Numbers - Class 4 trip down the Arkansas River, this is a really fun, technical class 4 that runs in the morning so you can be back to Avon by mid-afternoon. Brown’s Canyon - A great adventure with Class 3 rapids down the Arkansas River, this is a longer trip through beautiful scenery. Upper C Float - Easy float down the Colorado River, perfect if you are looking to get out on the water but not get too wet and enjoy the scenery.
