Western outfits like a shirt with pants or jeans are also perfectly fine. Since the ceremony will be held inside a temple, please avoid shorts and be prepared to remove your shoes before entering. Please reach out if you’d like help choosing an outfit.
The ceremony will begin at 7:00 AM, with the main wedding ritual (muhurtham) at 9:30 AM. You are welcome to join at any time, especially closer to the muhurtham if that works best for you. Breakfast will be available starting at 7:30 AM and will include a light American selection such as pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, and tea. The ceremony will conclude around 11:30 AM at the temple. Guests are then expected to proceed to lunch at Samburna Indian Restaurant (approximately 5 minute drive from temple). Lunch will be served around 11:30 AM and will feature traditional South Indian vegetarian cuisine, including rice, sambar (a lentil-based stew), vegetable sides, and dessert. Samburna Indian Restaurant 20806 Bothell Everett Hwy, Unit 100 Bothell, WA 98021 Seating will be available inside the temple. Both breakfast and lunch will include options for dietary restrictions. The event is expected to conclude around 1:00 PM following lunch.
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Western style is recommended: Think dress shirt and pants for men. Sun-dress or formals for women. Seattle on the waterfront can be cold even in May - please bring along a layer!
This will be a casual, outdoor picnic-style event with lunch served around noon. We’ll begin with a few opening remarks, followed by the bride and groom sharing their vows. The floor will then be open to anyone who would like to say a few words. We will also observe a brief period of silence in keeping with Quaker tradition. Lunch will include a variety of Indian vegetarian dishes (both North and South Indian), with options for dietary restrictions.
