We met at an annual Fourth of July party hosted by a mutual friend. This was the first time Carolina would go, while Noah had been going for a long time. Funny thing is, she almost didn’t go since she didn’t know many people, but something told her to say yes. Carolina was the first to arrive, and a few minutes later, Noah showed up. He introduced himself, and the two struck up a conversation that carried on throughout the night. We laughed, shared stories, and quickly realized how easy it was to talk to each other. Somewhere in between fireworks and good music, we discovered we had something major in common: finance. Noah had recently finished his degree at UF and had begun working, while Carolina was still in school at USF. It sparked more conversation and curiosity, and after the party, we followed each other on Instagram. Carolina took the chance to reach out under the very professional excuse of “finance career things.” Of course, our conversations quickly went far beyond business. A short time later following a Friday night church gathering, Noah asked Carolina if he could take her out to get coffee one weekend, and the rest is history. Since then, there has been countless fun from mini golf (Carolina is undefeated) to Gator games to watching our favorite movies (Noah usually picks), and late night ice cream runs (Chill Bros of course). Most of all, the Lord God has blessed us immeasurably by giving us the opportunity to grow in our love of Him through dating, and now, through marriage (Ephesians 5:22-33). Neither of us thought one introduction at a party would change our lives forever, but here we are… saying yes to forever.
