Question

What's the seating situation at the reception and dinner? Do I ever have to sit down?

Answer

Please free to choose to stand or sit at any point during the entire evening - including during the reception program - whichever feels most comfortable in the moment. Both wedding and reception are open seating. Dinner will be food station style - so we won't call tables - feel free to go to the stations/buffets at your leisure while they are open.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony and how do I check in?

Answer

We ask our guests to arrive before 430pm at Waialae Country Club on February 15th. Ceremony will follow at 445pm and Reception will be held at the same location. You can either check in at the welcome table when you arrive, or skip the line and check in during the reception by filling out one of the postcards placed at every table.

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

Aloha Business - Ladies have the further option of eveningwear of any style. Our guideline for ladies who are not opting for Aloha wear is to wear something appropriate for dinner at a nice restaurant. Ladies' footwear - Please note that the ceremony will take place on a grass lawn, so please be conscious of this when choosing heels.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking is at the Waialae Country Club - we will have Valet service available on-site as well.

Question

Gifts

Answer

We have opted not to create a registry as we we live in a smaller condo and lack space. Your presence is the best gift we could ask for. However, if, in addition, you would like to show your generosity with something more concrete, we would appreciate physically small items of any kind, gifts given electronically such as credits to an online store/subscriptions/contributions to charities in our name/contributions to our newlywed fund, or anything that fits in an envelope. Electronically-sent non-cash gifts can be sent to william.kawika.chee@gmail.com. Electronic contributions to our newlywed fund can be sent via Venmo to @Carolina-MirandaConstanzo or via applepay/paypal to 1-808-840-7498 (or to Kawika's email above). Checks can be made to “William Kawika Chee” or “Carolina Miranda Constanzo”

Question

Answer

Question

I have a food allergy/sensitivity, can I make a special request?

Answer

We will serve food buffet/food station-style and labels on the trays/at the stands will contain info on common allergens and dietary choices

Question

Is the reception also at Waialae Country Club and are all wedding guests invited?

Answer

Yes - we hope all our guests will stay for it! Reception will follow the wedding at the same place.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Guests who want to avoid the bustle of Waikiki have opted for The Lotus and The Kaimana Beach Hotel, both located along Kapiolani Park near Kaimana Beach. These hotels are two doors down from each other. We love both of them - The Lotus' rooms are the most comfortable, but the Kaimana is home to a beautiful, iconic lobby and restaurant. If you're in the mood for serious luxury, the Kahala Hotel is next to the Venue is and is absolutely irreplaceable. It's where Kawika proposed!

Question

What are some special restaurants in the area?

Answer

Maguro-Ya - Japanese restaurant that serves a variety of rarer seasonal fish with an incredibly charming staff. Rigo - Fantastic Italian/Spanish food and excellent drinks. The site of our first date. Hula Grill - Standard "Tropical Resort Food" but done with such excellence that locals respect it. Say "Hi" to Brian at the bar (or at the wedding). Shokudo Kaimuki - Outstanding, bustling small-plate Izakaya food at the right price with great drink specials. Sunrise Restaurant - extremely casual, affordable and homey Okinawan food that feels like being served in someone's home. It's incredibly endearing. St. Louis Drive Inn and North Shore Grinds are the King and Queen of Hawaii Plate Lunch Cuisine. Try the Japanese Deluxe at the former and the Hamburger Steak at the latter. Sprouts - Excellent sandwiches for take-out. The Turkey Bacon is a favorite. Ft. Ruger Market - Amazing hole-in-the-wall takeout with Filipino and Hawaiian Choices - Poke Bowls with Lechon are great. Domo Cafe is also takeout and more tightly focused on excellent poke bowls.
