Like so many modern love stories, ours began with a match on Hinge in early May 2024. From the very first messages, something felt different — easy, exciting, and real. We had our first date scheduled for May 16 (which also happens to be Donald’s sister’s birthday), but life got in the way, and he had to cancel. He was convinced Carolina would never give him a second chance… but thankfully, she did. That chance turned into our first date on June 1 — and we never really stopped seeing each other after that. From the beginning, our relationship felt intense in the most beautiful way. We went from date to date, never missing a beat. By our fifth outing, on June 15, we shared our first kiss. Just three days later, on June 18, Donald asked Carolina to be his girlfriend. She said yes — of course. Not long after, we both knew this was it. Fast forward to Carolina’s graduation weekend in May 2025. Donald told her they were organizing a little family gathering so everyone could finally meet and celebrate her big accomplishment. What she didn’t know was that, a month earlier, he had called her parents in Brazil to ask for their blessing — despite the fact that they don’t speak the same language! (Yes, Google Translate was a loyal companion through it all.) On the day of the “family celebration,” Donald handed Carolina a gift: a shirt that read “Future Mrs. DeWitt.” And when she looked up — there he was, down on one knee. Thankfully, someone captured it all on video, because Carolina was so overwhelmed with excitement and joy that the moment became a beautiful, blurry memory. The answer was, once again, a very emotional yes. Since then, life has only gotten sweeter. Whether we’re watching movies, cooking together, doing puzzles, or simply sitting in the same room, being in each other’s presence is our favorite place to be. Loving each other is easy — because together, we’ve discovered what a truly healthy, supportive, and joyful relationship looks like. We had an intimate ceremony on July 22nd to officially begin our life together — but we are so excited to celebrate our second ceremony and reception with all of you, and share this happiness surrounded by the people we love most.
