What time will the reception begin?

Will everyone be attending the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be an intimate gathering for immediate family and close friends. Invitation details will be reflected when you RSVP—if you see options for both the ceremony and reception, you are invited to both; if only the reception is listed, we look forward to celebrating with you there! The ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM at the Wisconsin State Capitol — Senate Parlor (Madison). We’re so excited to celebrate with everyone at the reception afterward!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 1:00 PM. We recommend arriving 30–45 minutes early to allow time for parking and to make your way to the Senate Parlor.

Will there be time between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

For those attending the ceremony: After the ceremony (around 2:00 PM), we’ll be taking photos around the Capitol. If you’d like something to do in the meantime, you’re welcome to join an optional gathering at The Great Dane—we’ll have the Pool Room reserved from 2:30–4:30 PM, along with light appetizers and a cash bar. Or feel free to explore Madison and meet us at the reception at 6:00 PM.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Garden Attire: Women: Flowy dresses, floral prints, soft pastels, or light, airy fabrics are perfect. Midi and maxi dresses work beautifully, and dressy jumpsuits are also welcome. Pair with wedges, block heels, or dressy flats (grass-friendly shoes encouraged!). For men: Light-colored suits, dress shirts, or button-downs (long or short sleeves!) with slacks or chinos are great options. Ties and jackets are optional, it will be July so dress comfortably for being outside. Think breathable fabrics like linen or cotton!

Can I bring a date?

You are absolutely welcome to bring a guest to the reception! For the ceremony, we kindly ask that no plus ones attend. If your reception RSVP does not show a plus one and you would like to bring one, please let us know and we’ll be happy to add them. :)

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask that everyone and their plus ones to please RSVP by June 1st, so that we can get the final headcount to the caterer!

How will dinner service work?

Answer

Dinner will be served buffet-style around 7:00 PM. We want the evening to feel relaxed and easy, so please sit wherever you feel most comfortable! There will be plenty of tables, couches, and seating areas both inside and outside. Grab food when you’re ready, find a cozy spot, and enjoy the night — think of it as a never-ending cocktail hour!
