Our Story

|| Carol’s Adventure || Carol left Brazil to come to the United States in late 2016 on an exchange program. She lived a year in Saratoga Springs, NY and then the next year on Bainbridge Island, WA. It was here that she visited a church called newlife and saw an adorable worship leader on stage named Rees. || Meeting at Group || Carol started attending the Silverdale newlife campus and was involved in a group that met on Sunday nights. Rees eventually visited the group and somehow ended up sitting next to Carol. Rees’s first words to Carol were, “Hi, just a heads up, my stomach makes noises when the room is quiet.” Thankfully, this did not scare her away. || The Dreaded DM’s of Instagram || A few weeks later, Carol responded to one of Rees’s instagram stories and conversation was struck up. This lead to texting and wanting to get to know each other better. || The First Date that Carol thought was a Date and Rees did not || Rees decided to show Carol and her friend Mona his favorite restaurant in the whole world, The Matador. (Rees hasn’t been to Brazil yet, he clearly doesn’t know where the best restaurant is.) While Rees claims this wasn’t a date, at the end of the night he drove Carol to Kerry Park, overlooking Seattle. (While playing Gravity by John Mayer). There was a moment later that night where Rees decided to give Carol an awkward high five, but Carol instead grabbed his hand and held it. And they are still holding hands to this day.
