Things To Do, Places to Eat

If you're not familiar with the area, here is a list of some of our favorite places to visit!
Explore Downtown Maryville

Explore Downtown Maryville

East Broadway Avenue, Maryville, TN 37801

Explore our little town! Park at Maryville College and walk the campus & woods, then cross over the pedestrian bridge into downtown Maryville. Grab a coffee and pastry at Vienna Coffeehouse, peruse the shops on Broadway, then stroll around the Green Belt that runs along Pistol Creek!

The Sunsphere

The Sunsphere

963 World's Fair Park Drive, Knoxville, TN 37916

"One of the very first places Kevin took me was up to the observation deck of the Sunsphere to overlook Knoxville. We picnic'd below it at on the World's Fair Park and he surprised me with dessert up at the top!" - Caroline It's safe to say that we definitely recommend visiting the observation deck in Knoxville's Sunsphere - 360 degree views of our favorite big, little town! The deck is open from 9am-10pm and is completely free!

Great Smoky Mountains

Great Smoky Mountains

Foothills Parkway, Townsend, TN 37882

Get outdoors on a spring morning and hike our backyard - the Great Smoky Mountains! A few easily accessible hikes nearby are: - The Foothills Parkway Fire Tower - Spruce Flats Falls - Any of the trails off of Cades Cove

Cades Cove Loop Road

Cades Cove Loop Road

Cades Cove Loop Road, Townsend, TN

If you aren't in the mood for a hike, you can still take in the beauty of the national park on the Cades Cove Loop! Hop in the car and roll the windows down while traveling around the historic Cades Cove community. Along the route, you will find churches, cabins, and the occasional black bear! Carol & Kev's suggestion: bring a picnic and stop at your favorite spot along the way! NOTE: Be prepared to spend upwards of two hours driving around due to congested roads.

Lambert Acres Golf Club

Lambert Acres Golf Club

3402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803

If you're a golf-lover like Kevin, spend a couple hours at Kevin's go-to golf course! Lambert Acres Golf Club is a wonderful 27-hole course in the valley of the Chilhowee mountain range (in other words, the views are gorgeous). Call to grab a tee time or go hit a couple balls on the driving range!

PostModern Spirits

PostModern Spirits

205 West Jackson Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37902

This local distillery is famed for their gins, vodka, whiskey and cocktail liqueurs. Take a seat at the bar and choose from a menu of insanely delicious cocktails that they spent hours creating! They also offer distillery tours and bottle sales throughout the day! Our recommendation is to partake in a tasting of all of their spirits first, then choose your favorite from the batch and ask the bartender to make you a special cocktail using that spirit!

K Brew

K Brew

1138 North Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917

If you know us at all, you know that we are avid coffee lovers. Furthermore, we are avid coffeeshop lovers. Our favorite in all of Knoxville is K Brew. Hands down. This little cafe has been a part of our relationship since the very beginning. Our suggestion? Grab a latte and a homemade bagel with one of their custom spreads! It's a perfect breakfast!

Vienna Coffee House

Vienna Coffee House

212 College Street, Maryville, TN 37804
, (865) 980-8282

Don't want to travel to Knoxville for a good coffee? No worries! Vienna Coffee House, located in the heart of downtown Maryville, is an incredible shop and roastery! We have spent many hours sipping a coffee and studying on their comfy couches. They have wonderful breakfast items and an extensive lunch spread. Even take home a bag of Vienna Coffee with you!

Bluetick Tavern

Bluetick Tavern

128 West Broadway Avenue, Maryville, TN 37801

This is one of our go-to restaurants, formerly known as Barleys Pizza & Taproom. It is filled with great food, great drinks, great atmosphere! They have a nice and almost surprising variety of options on the menu. It's also located right in downtown Maryville! Caroline's favorite: the Hoff pizza with chicken Kevin's favorite: the chicken fingers plate, dry-rubbed, with a side of sweet potato waffle fries

The Walnut Kitchen

The Walnut Kitchen

606 High Street, Maryville, TN 37804

If you're itching for a great steak, check out The Walnut Kitchen. This restaurant has a menu that makes your mouth water with items that change with the season. The chef is a butcher, so every plate has the best cut of meat you can get. If you don't like steak, no worries! Kevin always get the fish just because it's THAT good. Pro tip: if you're an old fashioned fan, order the Walnut Old Fashioned. Holy-wow.
