Emmett took me to Las Vegas for my 26th Birthday where he surprised me with skydiving (it was an experience haha) We only had plans to go to Vegas, but when he found out he didnt have work the following day he decided to extend our trip and give me another surprise…we’re going to Zion National Park!! Neither of us had workout clothes or were prepared in the slightest, but since Emmett knew he was going to propose to me I guess Zion is a better option than Vegas haha. Off we went to Zion! We chose to hike the narrows which is a hike through a river. Perfect place to propose…expect most of the narrows concist of only water and rock walls. Later he told me how nervous he was thinking he had to propose and give me my ring over running water! Luckily after about a mile and a half in he found a small dirt island where we stopped for a snack break where he sneakily grabbed the ring box out of my backpack and asked me to be his wife. It was perfect in everyway! My hands wouldn’t stop shaking and we had a crowd of strangers cheering us on. One of the best parts was being disconnected, there was no cell service and we had a 2 hour walk back. The conversations that took place on our walk back were memorable and something I will cherish forever. Our first phone call was to my Grandpa (my mom’s dad) and he was over the moon! He’s been giving Emmett a hard time for years about making the next big move! Emmett and I decided as a couple to keep our engagement a secret and to keep it off of social media for a few weeks until we got to tell all our loved ones in person or via facetime. Seeing each and every one of your reactions was priceless!!
