How we met

October 24,2015

Emanuel and I met through a mutual friend of ours, Kevin. His first encounter with me was while I was at work and I never noticed him, but he says when he first saw my smile he had this feeling I was special. He told our friend Kevin all about me, and when he found out Kevin knew me, he asked Kevin to set us up. He arranged for us to meet at a super cheesy local haunted trail. My first impressions of him were that he was cute, funny, and entertaining, that night is definitely one I won’t forget anytime soon, he was without a doubt very different than most guys I had met at the time, and he definitely left an impression. I feel like he and I instantly clicked, and I wanted to get to know him more before jumping into a relationship with him. He was much older and that made me kind of nervous because I had never dated anyone older than me before. After about 5 months, he asked my parents for permission to date me, and they said yes. I’m glad they did becauae I have never met anyone that I could be more open with than him, I trusted him immensely from the start and he has been my best friend since the beginning. After about 2 and a half years he finally decided he was going to ask for my hand in marriage, and of course, I said yes.

The proposal day

March 3,2018

I'm going to be honest, I had this feeling when 2018 started that he was going to ask but I had no idea when. At some point he told me he'd give me money to get my nails done for my birthday. My imagination ran wild, thinking that he was proposing within the next two weeks(thats how long manicures usually last). I'm starting to create scenarios of how he could possibly do it. I remembered we were going to the Stadium Series game at the Naval Academy in Annapolis to watch the Washington Capitals play an outdoor game. He had mentioned that we were going to spend the ENTIRE day in Annapolis, because he was so hung up on this game! He wanted to do any and everything having to do with this game, I was so annoyed! To make it up to me, he took me to a beautiful waterfront restaurant, where you could see the Naval Academy across the water. It was gorgeous and the food was amazing, so of course I took pictures of us in front of the water So much was going on that the furthest thing from my mind was a proposal, and that’s how he got me. He planned everything out so well with every picture that was captured in the stadium. What I didn’t know is that he had set up for someone to take capture our moment when it finally happened. He had orchestrated the whole thing with someone from Russian Machine Never Breaks! A huge Capitals blog! Right after the teams left the ice after warm ups he said lets go to the bathroom and get some hot chocolate. While I was in the bathroom he made contact with the person they had arranged would get the picture for us and would eventually become a blog post. He reminded me that we hadnt gotten a picture from the side of the rink yet and that we needed one, and he asked this lady I thought was a total stranger to take a picture, but little did I know it was a set up. He got down on one knee and popped the question and I said yes! The stands had just started filling up and so right when I said yes we had almost our whole section cheering for us!

Our wedding day

10.03.2019

Even though we wanted to a big extravagant wedding, we were ready to move forward and start our lives together as husband and wife. Two and a half years of waiting to be married, was a long time! We decided to just hold a small ceremony that was immediate family back in October. Although, it was a night to remember, we still want to continue to celebrate our marriage with all of you, our extended family and friends! Pictures will be posted from both of the wedding day celebrations once we’ve finished the our celebration in August, that way we can share the experiences as one big gallery!
