Carnation and Mike met while attending Salisbury University. They met through mutual friends and connected during Greek Life events with Delta Gamma and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

As soon as Carnation saw Mike, she knew he was the one. Once he FINALLY noticed her, Mike started to realize they might just be a perfect match. Mike waited until March 23, 2014 (23 is Carnation’s favorite number) to ask her to be his girlfriend. Carnation said yes and their adventure officially began. In May of 2015, Carnation graduated from Salisbury and began her teaching journey in Baltimore, MD. Mike stayed in Salisbury to finish his senior year. They visited each other every chance they got, and their love just grew stronger. When Mike graduated in May of 2016, they were both in Baltimore again and they fell right back in step. They spent the next 4 years growing closer, stronger, and even more in love. In June 2020, Carnation moved in with Mike, and in September 2020, they brought home their sweet Doberman pup, Moose. Everything was truly falling into place for them...

Carnation and Mike were taking Moose on a walk through the BWI Trail, one of their favorite walking trails. As they walked through the woods, Carnation stopped to untangle Moose’s leash. When she turned around, Mike was down on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring Carnation had ever laid eyes on. He asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. Through the happiest tears, she said yes!
