Denzel and Carmen’s journey began in 2012 while working at UPS. What started as a simple friendship slowly grew into something deeper, officially blossoming into love on September 29, 2015. Now, if you ask Denzel how it all started he’ll tell you he asked Carmen to be his girlfriend two days before and she said NO! 😂 But as fate would have it, love had other plans. At the time, Carmen was a devoted single mother to her daughter, Clarissa. Naturally cautious about love, she took her time. But it didn’t take long for her to recognize the kind of man Denzel truly was not only a partner, but someone who could step into a fatherly role with love and strength. And that’s exactly what he did. Denzel embraced Clarissa as his own, stepping up with open arms and a full heart. Carmen lovingly calls him “Her Sunshine,” because he entered her life during one of her darkest seasons and brought light, warmth, and joy back into her world. Their love continued to grow, and in November 2016, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Savannah Covington. Like any strong love story, they faced challenges along the way but Denzel’s unwavering love and commitment always found the way back to Carmen. On August 20, 2022, Denzel asked Carmen the most important question and this time, she said YES. 💍 In 2024, their family became complete with the arrival of their son, Malachi Denzel Covington.
