We are asking that you either be vaccinated or submit a negative test, taken within three days, to us by Thursday 11/11/2021. *If you are unvaccinated, please email your negative test to Weddingcovidcheck@gmail.com by the end of the day on Thursday 11/11/21. (It's not a bot, my sister-in-law will be checking it.) *If you are vaccinated, we'd love like for you to get tested before attending. To be fully transparent, we won't have the bandwidth to check everyone's tests, but we would really appreciate if you take this step to make us all as safe as possible. For everyone: Please keep in mind that you're coming in a room with our parents, Nana, and our infant niece. We're asking for everyone's collective effort to make this event as safe as possible while still being able to gather.
We would like all our guests to be vaccinated against Covid. In light of the spread of the Delta variant, New York's vaccine mandate for indoor eating, and overwhelming evidence that Covid outcomes are more severe for those who are unvaccinated, we feel this is the best way to ensure a safe environment. This is a large wedding, and we care about your safety. Please read the response above for information about testing. Depending on how cases are looking in the next few weeks, it is possible that the venue may ask for proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter. Our #1 concern is the health and safety of our community, especially our elders, newborns, and immunocompromised or otherwise vulnerable community members.
Yes, with caveats. The wedding cocktail hour is "indoor/outdoor" and the reception is indoors but we will have access to a large amount of outdoor space, including seating, great views, and space heaters. The ceremony will either take inside or outside, depending on the weather. In other words, if you are uncomfortable being indoors with a crowd all night, you could reasonably participate and spend much of the wedding taking advantage of the outdoor options.
No, you won't be required to wear a mask. You are, however, welcome to do so if you would like. Again, we ask that if you are not vaccinated you remain conscientious, especially when around our older or younger family members.
