Carm and Hernie met the modern way: by swiping right on Facebook in the fall of 2023 (swoon!). After lots of talking and a video call, they decided to meet. The night before their first date, Carm surprised Hernie with a baking basket, unknowingly, she had already prepared a surprise for him as well, an assortment of cookies. Their first date was just perfect—breakfast, a movie, and lots of deep conversations and they've been together ever since. Their proposal was a bit unique as it ended up being just a few short months after they started dating. Talks about family, faith, the future, and being eager to start their lives together, Carm proposed to Hernie during a video call with her parents the same day that he was baptized. He asked for her dad’s permission to marry her and got down on one knee! The ring was presented, hugs and kisses were shared, and some tears were shed, a memory they’ll remember forever.
