After ten years of being each other's best friend, we can't wait to get married! We are so grateful to our friends and family who have been cheering us on from the beginning, and hope you can join us in Maui!

Zach and Carly met in college at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles, CA in 2014. They had an 8:00am Biology class together their freshman year. Zach was a Biology major with a Business minor on a Pre-Med track and Carly was a Psychology major on a Pre-Dental track. Carly likes to say that they actually met for the first time at LMU’s Welcome Mass (Zach's one and only time in a church) but Zach denies the claim. Zach says they really got to know each other at his first fraternity formal. After months of “study dates” and getting to know each other, they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend in January of 2015. The rest of their college experience consisted of participating in service trips together, Greek life parties, and lots of studying. During this time, they made some of their lifelong friends and fell in love with the city of Los Angeles. Significantly, in 2018 Zach joined Carly’s family for the first time on one of their annual Maui family vacations. During this trip, Zach found his spirit animal, the egret. During their senior year of college, they sat down for a fancy Italian dinner in Santa Monica where they decided to commit to four years of long distance while Carly was in Arizona for dental school and Zach was in Oregon for medical school. While Carly and Zach were in medical and dental school, they visited each other every month and made their relationship a priority amidst the intense training and demands of their professional schools. They continued to stay in contact with their college friends and made frequent trips with them to catch up on life. Zach found his passion for anesthesia while Carly explored her interests in public health and pediatric dentistry. While on their annual Maui trip in March of 2020, the global pandemic led to a national shut down. Carly and Zach were stuck in a two bedroom apartment in Kaanapali, Maui with Costco food and a mini kitchen. The silver lining of the COVID shut down was that they were able to spend more time together, as all of their classes went virtual. In 2022, Zach matched into anesthesia residency at Cedars Sinai, Los Angeles and graduated with his medical degree. Carly graduated from dental school with her dental degree and a masters in public health. To celebrate their success, they took another trip to Maui! After their trip, they moved into their first apartment together in Los Angeles, CA. Zach started residency while Carly got a job at a pediatric dental office. They built foundations for a lasting relationship and realized that living together felt natural. In October of 2023, Zach took Carly on a surprise trip to Pebble Beach, CA. On this trip, he planned a beach side proposal with both families present followed by an intimate dinner with the family. Carly said yes and couldn’t stop crying. Following the proposal, they went to Banff, Canada for a celebratory trip! They're overwhelmed with joy to continue their story and cannot wait to celebrate their life long love in one of their favorite places in the world, Maui!
