We owe our intro to Tinder (We reached out for them to sponsor the wedding but… no response yet. Rude.) Carly had just moved to Colorado and knew no one, so she jumped on the app to meet people. Travis was her first (and only) Tinder date. From the start, it just made sense. Travis couldn’t stop smiling, we couldn’t stop talking — even the waitress was shocked it was a first date with how comfortable we were. But Travis didn’t kiss Carly goodnight, so naturally, she assumed he hated her. (Spoiler: he didn’t — just keeping her on her toes. Classic.) Carly played it cool for a while — commitment wasn’t really her thing (yet) — but the connection was undeniable. The universe knew. We became inseparable, just loving being around each other. As we grew closer, we realized food and music were our shared love languages. Travis introduced Carly to the world of metal, and now she listens to heavier stuff than he does. The kitchen and smoker are our happy places (other than the pit at a metal show) — cooking, eating, and vibing in our cozy home with our two dogs. Then came the trip. Travis told Carly to block off a week for a surprise vacation. She immediately thought, “This is it.” After soaking in the hot springs, we landed at the Grand Canyon — camping, hiking, and catching a sunrise that basically screamed “proposal.” But… nothing. No ring. So Carly let it go and figured, “Alright, not this time.” Cue the plot twist. (Typical Travis.) Next stop: a private tour at Caduceus Cellars, Maynard’s vineyard in Arizona. (Yes, that Maynard — Tool frontman and mysterious wine wizard.) Tool is Travis’s favorite band, and when he introduced them to Carly, she got hooked — fascinated by Maynard’s story, his creativity, and the music. His wine became a part of our holiday traditions, and we’d casually dreamed about visiting the vineyard for an anniversary someday... So there we were, surrounded by barrels, vines, and the beautiful Arizona landscape, when Travis got down on one knee. Totally unexpected. Completely perfect. Carly was speechless (which doesn’t happen often), full of tears, and not 100% sure she actually got the word “yes” out. The rest of the tour — and the whole trip — was magic. The universe knows what it’s doing. Now we’re here. Still laughing, still cooking, still headbanging. And more excited than ever to celebrate this next chapter with our favorite people. (That’s all of you 😉)
