Michael and I "met" on Match.com, I had been on several mediocre, some comical and at least one terrible date after signing up, and I was his first date after signing up. Didn't he get lucky! I signed up after a lot of convincing from a friend, and I actually almost canceled Michael and I's first date because I was tired of going on mediocre dates, it was taking up too much of my precious 20's fun life! I am so glad I didn't cancel. We went to a lookouts game and there were fireworks, literal fireworks after the game. We still love watching fireworks together! We went to Mellow Mushroom afterwards for drinks and then walked around downtown Chattanooga. He didn't feed me the entire date! I wasn't sure if he was going to work out if food wasn't at the top of his priority list. Luckily we found our groove, and now I am pretty sure 80% of our conversations are based around food! He is my best friend and the person I can be myself around 100% without worry of judgement. He says I have made his life so much better and opened him up to trying new things. Like eating sushi! See all we do is eat.
The Mister's proposal was the absolute sweetest. We went to Cumberland Island for a three day camping trip with my family (my first time ever camping for more than a night) and before the trip I asked if he was nervous about anything and he said no. He asked if I was and I named, spiders, snakes, alligators, wild boar, peeing outside and getting bitten by a snake, showering with no hot water (and holy heck that was the worst part, it was so cold) . So we are on the trip and it had been fairly awesome. We saw wild horses when we very first got to our campsite, and we could hear the waves in our tent. It was about 100 degrees when you would fall asleep and then freezing in the middle of the night though! There was a mom and her baby horse on the beach, and we took a walk to go look at them. I love animals and the beach so I was in heaven! We were walking back and he asked me if I remembered asking if he was nervous about anything, and he told me he lied that he was nervous. I laughed and asked if he had been nervous I would be horrible to camp with for days, he said no that wasn't why he was nervous, but he had made me something for our anniversary and was nervous to give it to me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with a ring that he had made for me. It is a simple silver band and I love it so much! The fact that he took the time to make me something was what made it extra special, that in secret when I wasn't home he would work on it down in the basement at his work bench. I started crying and asking if he was serious, I was probably slightly sunburned, had on no makeup, with hair a mess, and sand everywhere, and I wouldn't have changed a single moment of it! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in October!
