In downtown Milwaukee there is an area that spans from 9th Street on the East to 20th Street on the West, and from State Street on the North to Clybourn Street on the South. That probably sounds like a large area, but it’s actually just like two bars, a Real Chili and some academic buildings housing the finest Jesuit education in the land. Which makes it all the more unlikely that although Carly and Shaun shared the campus of Marquette University for three years, it wouldn’t be for a few years after graduation that they would truly meet. It was a first date in 2016 at a table overlooking the river at Ale Asylum that initially brought them together. And while Milwaukee would continue to hold a dear spot in their hearts, it was at this first date where they stumbled upon the fact that both had accepted jobs that would take them to Chicago in the coming months. It seemed like fate at the time, even more so today. Four years of family vacations, Marquette and Packer games, hiking and ski trips, countless concerts, new jobs, and dreams of their future together led them back to Milwaukee on a hot summer day, where they decided, at the top of Kilbourn Reservoir Park, to spend the rest of their lives together. Family and friends have been a constant, important part of their relationship from the start, and they look forward to you being a part of their big day!
