We're Getting Married!

In August of 2020, we met online as two lonely people in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. We didn't expect to fall in love or find a missing part of our puzzle but by the time we decided to meet in person, we already had nicknames, inside jokes, and a ridiculous collection of animal memes between us. On our first date, Omer had a secret plan already in mind. I remember being so nervous and excited that my hands trembled as I walked toward the table and saw him for the very first time. He had sunglasses on and I just thought he was so out of my league and so cool. What was supposed to be a quick lunch turned into hours and hours of the best (and last) first date of my life. We left the cafe and afterwards came delicious gelato, long talks in the car, sweet first kisses, and, to my surprise, a sunset picnic on a secret beach. Omer had secretly stashed a cheese and fruit tray in his trunk, along with a single (lukewarm) Blue Moon beer. He didnt drink but knew I did, and that thoughtfulness was overwhelming. From that lukewarm beer and fancy cheddar, I was hooked. -Carly I knew before I ever saw her in person that she was different. I told myself to play it cool, but I had already mapped out the whole afternoon in my head. I packed the cheese and fruit tray that morning, grabbed a Blue Moon, and hoped she wouldn’t think I was completely ridiculous. When I saw her walking toward me, nervous and glowing at the same time, I remember thinking, “Okay. Don’t mess this up.” I didn’t want a quick lunch. I wanted more time. I wanted her to stay. -Omer
