Like any great modern love story, ours technically began on Hinge… where we matched and proceeded to never say a single word to each other. Fast forward a few months, and fate intervened when we ran into each other at the same restaurant one weekend in November of 2022. Max, with a little encouragement from his wingman Elliot, made the bold move to officially meet Carly after a Badger gameday that same weekend. As we got to talking, we discovered a few wild coincidences — like the fact that Max was the eye doctor for Carly’s parents, who had recently moved to the Madison area. From that day forward, our relationship continued to grow and evolve. We’ve bonded over our deep love of Wisconsin sports, our alma mater UW–Madison, and our shared belief that a great day includes a round of golf. In October of 2024, Max proposed at our home after a cozy date night in Middleton. Under the glow of the Northern Lights, he asked Carly to marry him and she immediately said yes (through many tears, of course).
