Flight
There are a variety of ways to get to Key West (airport code EYW). Flying directly into Key West is the most convenient, and quickest, though not the cheapest. Here are a few quick options and notes. 1. Flying directly into Key West. Should you fly into Key West you do not need a rental car, unless you absolutely want one. You can catch a quick cab, or Uber to where you're staying. They will offer bikes, mopeds, golf carts, and plenty more if you don't want to walk/Uber. 2. Flying into Fort Lauderdale, and then driving (4ish) hours. The drive is beautiful, but can get slowed up at anytime as it is a one lane highway most of the way. Many people choose to fly into Fort Lauderdale and do the drive down to Key West, then fly home from Key West 3. Fly into Fort Lauderdale, and then book a separate flight from Fort Lauderdale to Key West on "Silver Airways". Silver Airways is a very small southern Florida airline that has nonstop flights to Key West from Fort Lauderdale, usually for very reasonable prices. 4. Fly into Miami and drive. Miami is around 45 minutes closer than Fort Lauderdale, though all other details from the Fort Lauderdale drive remain the same.
