Bears are common in the Truckee-Tahoe area, including around the wedding venue. We advise that you keep car doors and house doors locked day and night. Do not leave any food or snacks in your car, including gum wrappers, dog food, or an empty coffee cup. Use the bear boxes at your rental home or around town and do not leave excess trash bags outside for easy access. The neighborhood bears know how to open unlocked cars and unlocked house doors.
The tap water is safe to drink and delicious. Bring your reusable water bottle and fill up throughout the weekend. Speaking of water, as a note, Tahoe is at 6,200'. We are high and dry here. Hydrate often!
Reno-Tahoe International Airport: Approximately a 45-minute drive to Truckee. Sacramento International Airport: Approximately a 2-hour drive to Truckee. San Francisco International Airport: We would only recommend this if you intend to visit the Bay Area during your trip. Approximately a 4-hour drive to Truckee.
Shuttle service will be provided to transport guests to and from the wedding reception at Old Greenwood. The specific timing of shuttle service will be updated closer to the event date. Shuttles will pick up and drop off exclusively at Gravity Haus and Martis Valley Lodge. If you are not staying at either of these hotels, you are still welcome to use the shuttle service, but you will need to arrange transportation to and from one of the designated hotel pick-up locations. Please note that shuttle service will not be provided to or from the church ceremony. Please also note that Tahoe is not typically known for being ride-share friendly.
Yes, there is plenty of parking at the church of St. Francis of Assisi for the ceremony and the Timbers at Old Greenwood for the reception.
We would love to celebrate with everyone and understand that guests may want to bring a date. However, due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate the guests specifically listed on the invitation. Invited guests will be indicated on the formal invitation.
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration, unless otherwise indicated on your formal invitation. We hope this gives parents the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing, kid-free weekend!
