Our love story began at the University of Arizona when we selected the same English course, spring of Freshman year. Carly found Grant reserved, yet interesting and Grant found Carly spunky and determined. We created a sweet friendship during our time in English class. After a semester worth of classes and various group projects together, Grant added Carly on Facebook but ultimately went our separate ways. Summer break soon came to an end and Carly couldn't stop thinking about "that cute boy from English class". She reached out to Grant via Facebook messenger to "catch up" and the rest was history!

Carly, Grant and their best friend, Taylor flew to Sacramento for Grammy's 80th Birthday party. After a fun weekend of laughs, catching up with family and many photos later, Grant decided it was time to pop the question. As various family members packed up and started saying their goodbye's, Grant and Taylor quickly hatched a plan to get everyone in one spot. Taylor suggested all the grandkids take a group picture on Grammy's front porch. With everyone in position and a few photos later, everyone except Grant got up. Carly heard gasps and hoped this was THE moment. She turned around to find Grant down on his knee. He said- "Carly, I've been coming to these {family gatherings} for a while now- I think I'd like to stick around. Will you marry me?!" Of course Carly said yes! WE WERE ENGAGED!

January 2016: First met at the University of Arizona September 2016: Started dating February 2017: The first I love you's! May 2019: Graduated University of Arizona together June 2019: Grant went to Virginia for Marine Corps training and Carly went to Texas for her first "big girl" job April 2020: Moved into our first place in Sunny, Southern CA December 2020: Brought our puppy, Penny home June 2021: Engaged September 2021: Married November 2021: First Deployment September 2022: BIG Celebration!
