Carly and Eddie met through mutual friends the summer of 2017. More specifically, through Larissa nudging Carly into Eddie when the Fred crew was out one summer night. They didn’t speak much until later in the night, and Eddie knew his interest was piqued. Shortly after, Eddie and Carly got to know each other over Facebook Messenger (lol). This lead to texting, which lead to their first date. Well… one of their "first dates" ... This first date was on the rooftop at Vivify in Downtown Fredericksburg, where they chatted and got to know each other a bit more. The second first date was 8 months later (yes, 8 months later), where they met up for a classy drink downtown at Kybecca. This brings us to Eddie and Carly’s driving range date, where they finished the day with dinner at Spencer Devon and a stroll downtown. For both of them, this date is one of the most memorable early times they spent together. That summer, Eddie and Carly spent almost all of their free time together before leaving for their separete vacations in Italy, which had coincidently been planned within the same few weeks. They still kept in touch, of course, and were so excited to return home and continue dating. So excited in fact, that upon landing back in the states, Eddie drove back to VA as soon as possible to cook Carly a wonderful Italian dinner. Not to be cliché, but the rest is history!
Eddie had planned to take Carly downtown to try a new restaurant- that’s all Carly thought it was anyway. The trick was, he had to make sure they would walk through the town square and into the twinkling alleyway where he would pop the question. It was a chilly, rainy night and Carly insisted on doing another lap around the block with the hope of finding a closer parking spot. By sheer luck, every spot was taken that Wednesday so they had to park further up the hill- near the square. So, they got out and walked. Eddie stopped at the beginning of the alley and got down on one knee! Needless to say, the dinner that followed was a blur of jitters and excitement. They both agree that it was an absolutely perfect evening captured beautifully by Larissa; who got there an hour early to scope out the spot with the best lighting, the best angle, and to find the perfect tree to hide behind.
