Visit Lake Tahoe while you're here! The South end is closer, with more casinos and nightlife. The North end (our favorite) is quieter, but it is a bit further away.
Folsom has loads of stuff to do too, from lake activities to the prison museum, as does the ever charming Roseville, another large suburb nearby.
The city of Sacramento itself has loads going on, including the River Fox Train, which hosts sunset dinners and murder mysteries while moving luxuriously through the sunflower and almond farmland (near the airport). Midtown boasts nightlife and speakeasies, even featuring a live mermaid at Dive Bar! Boats cruise up and down the American River out of The Old Waterfront of Sacramento if you'd just like to chill near or on the water for a bit. The Captain Hornblower is our favorite for nighttime cruise for drinks and music. Drake's Barn in West Sacramento is a large, outdoor eatery featuring local brews, drinks and food trucks right next to the American River and River Cats Stadium. Scooters and bikes are available to rent throughout the city using applications on your phone! The Crocker Art Museum is famous for it's collection in a beautiful historic home. Check out Camellia for a horchata cold brew coffee or There and Back Again for a Lord of the Rings themed cafe experience!
