Our venue is less than 5 miles from the Mount Rainier National Park (Nisqually) entrance, which leads to the appropriately named area of Mount Rainier called Paradise. We encourage you to explore— we are actually requiring this if you’ve never been before! ;) The hikes (and even vehicle turn-outs) are incredible, and there are types for ALL skill levels & time available (30 mins or 4 hours). If you’re not a hiker, then just drive to the Paradise parking lot. You won’t regret it. Important FYI: There were timed entry reservations required for entering the park during peak season to the ‘Sunrise’ entrance in summer 2025, but the Nisqually entrance did NOT require a reservation to enter the park. This all may change. Text Carly or Abby if you have questions. This is what we know right now: https://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/timed-entry-reservations.htm.
If you’re staying or spending time near Tacoma, this is a lovely park with a lot to offer. There are wooded trails, the rose and dahlia gardens (amazing), Owen Beach and the boardwalk, native PNW garden, and a short walk over to Dune Peninsula park and Point Ruston. There are many shops and food options in Ruston, and you typically get an awesome view of Mt. Rainier, Commencement Bay, and downtown Tacoma!
If you’re not familiar with finding hikes in WA, download the WTA app (Washington Trails Association) to help find hikes. I recommend searching around the Central Cascades, Mt Rainier, and Puget Sound Regions. or text Carly, Abby, or an Erickson :)
