Yes! As you drive up to The Avery, on the right of the hotel you will see a grassy lot with some cars already parked in it, please park here for the wedding on Saturday. For the Sunday brunch at the cabin there is a huge parking lot across the street that you can park in.
We have reserved two room blocks at local hotels which you can find more info on under the "travel" tab. There are also lots of great houses/cabins for rent in the area which you can find through sites like Airbnb or VRBO. If you would like to rent a house/cabin rather than stay at one of the hotels we highly recommended booking ASAP as things tend to get booked out pretty far in advance for the summer holidays. Lastly, there are more hotel options in the Murphys area if you're interested in exploring what else is out there.
There are several airport options which you can peruse under the "travel" section. It is about a 2.5 hour drive to The Avery Hotel (depending on traffic). Unfortunately there aren't any public transit options to get from the airports to Arnold, CA so renting a car is the best option. We recommended coordinating with other guests to carpool! We will have a few vehicles going from The Bay Area to Arnold so please feel free to reach out to Lisa or Tyler if you would like to try to coordinate a ride.
The wedding celebration will be taking place on Saturday, June 21 , 2025. We will have events the day before and the day after (Friday and Sunday) which are, of course, optional. For those of you that are traveling from afar and would like to extend the trip into a longer vacation, Northern California (and beyond) has so many beautiful and varied options to choose from! We will be adding some ideas of places to go and things to see under the "things to do" tab, so check back soon!
The area where the wedding is taking place is quite remote with charming small towns along the drive up through the mountains. There is a grocery store in Arnold and a couple places to eat but not too much else. Once you get up into the hills cellphone service starts to get a little sketchy. The hotels and rentals in the area should all have wifi and there are certainly spots where you can get good service throughout the area.
The wedding is cocktail attire, bright colorful outfits encouraged, but most importantly wear what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable! For the welcome dinner on Friday and the goodbye "brunch" on Sunday there is no dress code, come comfy and casual! For anyone planning on wearing heels, the wedding will primarily be outside on grass/dirt so stilettos or thin heels might not be the best option. The weather at this time of year in Northern California will most likely be quite hot in the day while the sun is up and always cools off once the sun goes down, so bringing layers will keep you most comfortable!
We love your little ones, but due to space limitations, children that are invited will be included by name on the invitation. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
While the San Francisco Bay Area is very safe and amazing to explore, car break-ins can be pretty common. If you plan to have a car and spend any time in the city, don't leave any valuables in the car. Even if you have a car with a trunk that isn't visible, do not leave bags or luggage in the trunk of your car unattended.
