Winslow and Carlos' story starts way back in the 6th grade. They had the same circle of friends and always enjoyed each other’s company. As their social circles overlapped and as one began to laugh at the other's jokes, their hearts grew fonder. The fall of 2008, found Carlos and Winslow Seniors at Downey High School. Carlos had just returned from a hiatus where he spent the previous year of high school in Dallas. When he returned to California to his lifelong friends and a homespun neighborhood, he geared up for a year he would never forget. After biting off more than he could chew during Senior year, Carlos decided to switch from A.P. Bio to take Spanish 3 instead. Carlos entered his new Spanish class for the first time and scanned the room until he found Winslow's friendly face. As fate would have it, he sat at the empty desk behind her. For Winslow and Carlos, they became each other's favorite part of Spanish class. They walked to and from class, where he would make her laugh and she would make him smile. The Winter Formal dance quickly approached and Winslow and Carlos were without dates. Joe, Winslow's best friend, suggested that she should ask Carlos to the dance. Going to Winter Formal together couldn't have gone better. Amidst the start of something new, a few shy dates followed and, like a spark to gasoline, a relationship kindled. Coincidentally, Carlos and Winslow went on to attend California State University of Long Beach. Like a perfect duet, they graduated hand in hand in May 2014. In December 2016, under the guise of a house warming party, Carlos gathered their close friends and family for the evening. Under the California sky, backlit by the Los Angeles skyline, Carlos asked Winslow to marry him. For these two, we see that happiness isn't overrated and true love is timeless. Almost two years following the engagement, Winslow and Carlos are thrilled to begin this next chapter in their book of love and cannot wait to see what adventures lie ahead.
