It was late July 2018 in New York, about halfway through Carlos' six-week job training. Morgan was living in Chelsea at the time, and her mom, Marce, was in town for the weekend. While enjoying a late lunch and drinks on Stone Street, a shading tent nearly fell onto their table. They turn to see the culprits: Carlos and his friend, Ben. While Ben bolts to the bathroom, an apologetic Carlos comes over to rectify the situation, bringing his pitcher of margaritas (tequila is always the answer!). After making amends, they get to talking and decide that they will all head to the Standard Biergarten together. One thing leads to another and they end up closing down the bar--Morgan, her mom and Carlos. While Morgan was in the bathroom, Carlos proceeds to ask Marce, "Ma'am, may I take your daughter on a date?" To which she replies, "It's fine by me, but one thing you should know about Morgan is that she makes her own decisions." After a night of shenanigans, Carlos took Morgan to dinner at an Argentine restaurant the following week, recalling that she had studied abroad in Argentina. Carlos & Morgan spent the rest of his days in New York hanging out until it was time for him to head back to Dallas. They said their goodbyes in August and wished each other a great life. Over the next two years, they stayed in the most casual of contact, a Snapchat here, a text there. Then, in July 2020, almost exactly two years from the day they met, Carlos & Morgan made plans to see each other face-to-face again. Carlos came out to see Morgan in Manhattan Beach where she was living during quarantine. The rest is history. They spent the next three years dating long distance from New York to Dallas, and then from New York to Scottsdale when Carlos moved there in July 2021. In June 2023, Morgan joined him in Scottsdale. In March 2024, they adopted their dog, Sedona, then got engaged three weeks later in Sedona (can you tell it's their favorite spot?). Carlos & Morgan are doing a family-only ceremony (in Sedona!) on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, then look forward to celebrating with everyone later in the week!
