Carlos and London, being in neighboring congregations, met during their teenage years at the Kingdom Hall through a mutual friend. Over the years, their friendship blossomed through early morning service, group Zoom calls during the pandemic, adventurous outings, running a Spartan race together, and even playing wingman and wingwoman for each other. The turning point in their relationship came after a two-week trip to Europe with friends. On the plane ride back home, London was feeling unwell. Carlos, in a moment of quick thinking and wanting to be by her side, told the lady next to him that his wife was on the plane and not feeling well, and it would mean a lot if she could switch seats. To London’s surprise, Carlos approached her, referring to her as his wife, and explained that the nice lady would switch seats. Confused but amused by her new title, London went along with it. That one plane ride changed the dynamic of their relationship. After landing back in Houston, years of friendship transitioned into a deeper love. A few short months later, they officially began dating and started planning their life together. That one plane ride foreshadowed a lifetime of love and adventure.
