Carlos and Lizzy first met in 2016, when Lizzy interned at Carlos’s office. At the time, she knew him simply as “that crazy guy”—the one who casually booked a flight at 5 PM on a Friday to Italy for a soccer game… and still showed up to work Monday morning like nothing happened. Fast forward to 2019, when they reconnected at FPL. Fresh off big milestones—Carlos finishing his MBA in Barcelona and Lizzy graduating from FIU—they were both focused on starting their “adult lives”… and definitely not looking for anything serious. That lasted about one happy hour. One Friday, Carlos offered to buy Lizzy a caipirinha, and what was supposed to be a casual drink turned into a 3 AM night of dancing, karaoke, and meeting each other’s closest friends. The chemistry was instant—and despite their best efforts to play it cool, they were both hooked. A couple months later, Carlos made a bold bet during the 2019 NBA Finals: if the Raptors won in six games, he’d fly Lizzy to Aruba. Against the odds, he won. True to his word, they boarded a plane to Aruba, where Carlos asked Lizzy to make things official—and the rest is history. Since then, they’ve been inseparable. Their life together has been full of adventures: glamping in freezing Tennessee weather, sprinting to catch flights (usually just on time), snorkeling (well… Lizzy snorkeling, Carlos trying), hiking everything from Angel’s Landing to Hawaii trails, and watching an unforgettable Champions League Semi-Final live at the Bernabeu (Hala Madrid!). Through it all, Lizzy keeps them fashionably late (she runs on her own time zone), and Carlos makes sure they watch the important futbol matches. At home in Doral, they live with their dog Romeo—who Carlos found on Craigslist (just like Kaylee, Lizzy's first fur baby) while they were supposedly looking for a bike for Lizzy. Needless to say… best “bike” they’ve ever gotten! Throughout their relationship, some things haven't changed. Carlos is still a little crazy and Lizzy is still in her own time zone. The good thing is they are crazy for each other and they can’t wait to start their forever adventure—together 💛
